A note on custom orders and the holidays
24 OctWith the holiday season approaching this is the busiest time at Ornaglypholgy Studios. All custom painting orders that need to be completed for the holidays need to be ordered by November 21st. Please keep in mind that I am a one person crew so the earlier they get in the better as I have a limited number of paintings that I can complete each month. If you order and I am booked up I will let you know and we will figure it out from there.
To order a custom painting visit: mindyfisher.com to pick your size and pay. Then email a photo or a description (or both) of what you would like to happen in the painting. Paintings usually take a couple weeks to complete but I do not finish them off until I’m satisfied with the quality…so give me a month. If you have any questions or need suggestions send an email to info@ornaglyphology.com. I can’t wait to work on this years batch of paintings!
From gods to dogs….
13 OctThis week I worked on a small series of dog paintings. I wanted to have a recent example of what my pet portraits can look like and to also have some available on hand for the upcoming holiday season. If you have a request for a specific breed consider ordering a custom painting or shoot me an email with any questions at info@ornaglyphology.com.

Horus
25 SepThis summer a client asked me to create an Egyptian themed painting using my characters as the subject. I am not posting this particular painting because it’s going to be a wedding gift. However while working on her painting I became interested in researching Egyptian gods and goddesses. It became apparent that I wanted to paint a few of these deities in my style. I find it fitting since I’ve been told that my ornaglyphs look like either hieroglyph’s or ancient Mayan art. After doing these 5 paintings I think I’d like to try doing more deities from civilizations all over the world (when I have some free time). If you are interested in seeing or purchasing any of these paintings click here.
Custom options are now available!
23 JunNow here’s some exciting news…I finally put options for custom portraits in my webstore! All of the most popular sizes are available but if you want something you don’t see get in touch.
Totally New Awesome Radical Stuff!
18 JunI finally put 4 new paintings in the store. These are all small paintings that I created to carry around with me to festivals. There are more coming. I also knocked off $5 off my older paintings that are on paper.
One thing I have been experimenting with is putting my ornaglyphic writing on the backgrounds instead of in thought bubbles. I like this approach because it could still represent the characters thoughts or it could represent what’s going on around the character….or it could be awesome wallpaper…or……what do you think? This is now an option for custom portraits as well because it looks cool but not everyone wants a cartoon panel painting. Talk to me if you want to order a custom….info@ornaglyphology.com
Another custom-o-glyph
4 JanHere is another painting that was ordered during the holidays! I wish I knew this cute pitbull’s name. Sometimes when there isn’t enough room for a speech bubble I’ll just create a wallpaper with the ornaglyphs. This piece is 6″ by 6″, gouache, on board. A new price sheet for custom orders is coming soon!
Lola La-La-La-La Lola
20 NovThis is the oldest cat from my family (she lives with my parents). Lola is a Bengal. She was the runt of her litter so she is tiny but quite ferocious. She loves attention and is very jealous. If you pick her up and say “kiss” she will bump her nose on your nose…she likes to do this three times in a row, but if you do it more she will bite your nose (then she’ll put her paw on your cheek and dig her claws in a little in case you decide to put her down). When I would get home from school we used to play this game where I would chase her into my parents room then go back to the living room and she would slowly come out and when she got close I would chase her again. Lola is best friends with my middle sister and I am using this painting to blackmail her into visiting me in Chicago (my family lives in New Hampshire).
One more thing: One time Lola jumped on my face in the middle of the night, when I was asleep. Having a cat jump on your face when you are dead asleep is one of the most disturbing things you could wake up too. I freaked out and her natural instinct was to claw my face. When I got up the next day I had streaks of dried blood running down my face.
