To promote my coloring book I thought it would be fun to have friends, fans and other artists to each color in a page. So far 10 people have agreed to participate, which means I have 14 more slots open.  Anyone who participates will get a free copy of the e-book.  As people send in their pages I will be posting them on my blog. Once I have at least 10 images back I will be putting them in my virtual 3-D gallery in Second Life. Each participant will get full credit and linked to anything they are working on if they wish. Feel free to come up with a caption to go along w/ the page and it might turn into an exquisite corpse story. Kids are welcome to participate too.

How to participate: Send me an email to: info@ornaglyphology.com letting me know. I will send you your page within a day or two. When you are done just email me a scanned copy along with any other info you want to include. Once I get your colored in image I will email you the e-book!

Coloring Book Cover

Every day for the past week I have been coming home from my day job to sit in front of the computer to: scan pages, edit the images in Photoshop, edit them again in Illustrator, design a cover and back cover and upload everything to Lulu. Phew!

Well this is a peek at the front cover of the coloring book! I spent hours yesterday on this thing. Not to mention I pretty much taught myself how to use Illustrator. I LOVE using Live Trace.

I’m pretty happy with how this came out. I think it screams  “HEY I”M A COLORING BOOK!!!!!”. Right?

Sometime this week I am planning on putting up a free sample page and will also give you readers the link to my lulu shop where you will be able to purchase a hard copy or an e-book as promised.

Now I am going to pass out and prepare myself for the day job (which consists of more staring at a computer all day).

The coloring book is now available to purchase here.

Internet Free

31 Jul

I’ve been internet free for the past month which was at the same time kind of nice and kind of annoying. It freed up a lot of time to work on a project that I’ve been meaning to do and I should be done with that pretty soon. It’s going to be my first coloring book! So far I have 15 pages done.

I’ve been thinking about how I want to produce and distribute the coloring book. My plan is to have it available 3 different ways. The first way is that I’m going to send a copy of it to Love Bunni Press so that he can make photo-copy versions of it to distribute. Then I’m going to have a hard copy and a e-version available from Lulu.com. I think this will be smart because then I won’t have 1,000 copies of it taking up space in my apartment and I won’t have to deal with logistics. I love the idea of an e-coloring book because anyone who buys it can print it out as many times as they want…so if you have 3 kids it’s like getting 3 coloring books for the price of one.
