Re-girl your legs

18 Sep

Wild Thang!

My friend Kelly and her partner Graciela have started up a very cute leg-warmer making business named Re-girl. They upcycle t-shirts into one-of-a-kind warmers. From their website: Re-Girl, founded by artist Kelly D. Pelka and fashion designer Graciela Llorente, is street art inspired fashion using secondhand clothing as well as one of a kind artist designed eco friendly fabrics to create legwarmers, belts and more!  Bright and bold colors juxtaposed with typography and graphic imagery make these accessories a fun addition to any wardrobe.  Show off your style and “Re-Girl” yourself!

Re-girl is currently only available in Chicago at the Rockwell Crossing Art and Crafts Walk in Lincoln Square on Saturday, October 9th and at The DIY Trunk Show. Bookmark their website and check back if you live far away.

If you have kids you should check out Right-Brained Studio in Oak Park, IL. I will be teaching some sewing workshops there over the summer. One class will include creating felt cuffs/bracelets and the other will be cool creature pins (also sewn from felt). Right-Brained will also be holding week-long art camps and a graffiti workshop.
