Out with the old, in with the new!

10 Nov

It’s time for me to start clearing out my studio (the spare bedroom in my apartment) so I have room to work on new things. I recently put up a bunch of older paintings in my shop. They are $50 a pop, 7″x7″ gouache and ink on paper. Pretty soon I’ll have a bunch of new stuff to show!!!

Digital Masterpieces = Affordable Gifts

I haven’t been posting much because I haven’t created anything that I can show off (quite yet). I’m working on a bunch of custom portraits for the holidays as well as an animatic/limited animation project. I don’t want to post any current artwork because I don’ t want any recipients to accidentally stumble upon them. So I dug up this portrait of a German Shepherd I made for a client. Her name is Elsa.

I wanted to point out that I am offering digital portraits in addition to gouache paintings. The digital portraits are a great way to purchase original art if you are on a budget. Digital portraits are $35 (and then $10 for each additional person/pet/special thing that you want added to that particular portrait).

If you are interested in purchasing a portrait email me at: mintimindi@gmail.com with a couple photos of the subject(s). You can also pay me via paypal at that email. Once the portrait is complete I will email you a high-resolution copy of the portrait which you are then responsible for printing (which can be done in many formats).

If you are interested or have any quesitions do not hesitate to email me or leave a comment here. The deadline for digital portrait orders is Dec. 14th but consider getting them in asap because I tend to get a lot of orders around this time.

happy weird

I was checking out the Free Music Archive tonight and came across this great French band Vialka. I was getting tons of ideas for an animation while I was listening to them. Their music is strange and experimental with happy overtones and a hint of darkness which I think works w/ my art style. The song I really want to animate is called 100% Hello. I was breaking down the song into parts and it goes kind of like this: Ya-hoo gypsy ya-hoo noise-ish kazoo piano flying up funky weird opera w/ beats whirlwind.
