Zazzle!

I recently created a Zazzle shop to sell my art reproduced on clothing, housewares, stickers, and other objects. I wanted to offer and even more affordable and functionable option for people who would like to support my art. Right now I feature mostly paintings of pets but I do have a couple Egyptian dieties and other animals. And if you don’t see something that you would like let me know! The entire process of getting the products up is a little time consuming and tedious so I am planning on adding more and more through the next few weeks or months.

Custom Paintings Holiday Deadline

If you are interested in hiring me to create a custom holiday gift the deadline is approaching. If you live in Southern Vermont or Southwestern New Hampshire I will give you until December 8th to order. Everyone else get those orders in before Thanksgiving! If you are contemplating getting a custom ornaglyph but can’t decide on which photos to use consider getting a grouping. They can be arranged together on a wall or spread throughout your space as little (or big) reminders all over your house. They don’t even have to be the same sizes. Hey, I’m Accommodating!

It isn’t often that I stray from my signature color palette. Recently I was commissioned to create a group of portraits for a family here in Chicago. I was asked to use an earthier scheme so I decided that it would be fun to change it up for once (and it’s always a treat to pick out new colors for my paint collection). So what I’m trying to say here is that if you like what I’m doing but want to coordinate your art with your curtains I am probably willing to accommodate you with color requests.

Buttons Rule

Thanks to Ein Ein Buttons I now have these great accessories available in my shop! Each one is based off ofa classic character from my painting series. These are fun and cute and make great gifts! This set comes with 6 buttons total (click the numbers under the photo to see more examples).

A note on custom orders and the holidays

With the holiday season approaching this is the busiest time at Ornaglypholgy Studios. All custom painting orders that need to be completed for the holidays need to be ordered by November 21st. Please keep in mind that I am a one person crew so the earlier they get in the better as I have a limited number of paintings that I can complete each month. If you order and I am booked up I will let you know and we will figure it out from there.

To order a custom painting visit: mindyfisher.com to pick your size and pay. Then email a photo or a description (or both) of what you would like to happen in the painting. Paintings usually take a couple weeks to complete but I do not finish them off until I’m satisfied with the quality…so give me a month. From gods to dogs….

This week I worked on a small series of dog paintings. I wanted to have a recent example of what my pet portraits can look like and to also have some available on hand for the upcoming holiday season. Chicken Lady Goes to Egypt

I mentioned this painting in my horus blog entry earlier this week and was given permission to show it (it’s unlikely the recipient will see this). I didn’t get a great photo but this was one of my favorite paintings to work on. I loved researching Egypt and applying the costumes to my characters. The characters on the bottom are Horus and Anubis.

This summer a client asked me to create an Egyptian themed painting using my characters as the subject. I am not posting this particular painting because it’s going to be a wedding gift. However while working on her painting I became interested in researching Egyptian gods and goddesses. It became apparent that I wanted to paint a few of these deities in my style. I find it fitting since I’ve been told that my ornaglyphs look like either hieroglyph’s or ancient Mayan art. After doing these 5 paintings I think I’d like to try doing more deities from civilizations all over the world (when I have some free time).
